I'm baaaaack!

So another summer coming to an end...and here I post again!  Sadly I'm much better at posting on Facebook lol.  But my goal is to touch base here more often!

Lots of fun stuff happening- our Scrappin' Simply club is starting up again. So next date will be Sept 15. There are spaces for new members if you are interested.  Information is on this blog at the top or just contact me.  I'm hoping to email the gals tomorrow to decide which of the new kits those who do the kits want to start with!

I know I have mentioned Brae before and her crazy talent.  Well just read a post on her blog where she used some of our products intended for our new Crush books and used them in a layout.  Check it out at the link below- sorry cant hide it the same on my mobile and haven't hooked up the computer since our return. Really delaying getting back to work lol

Speaking of our new product, if you haven't gotten your hands on our new Idea Books let me know and I will drop one off. They are great for coming up with ideas for layouts or cards.  Now there is also home decor and jewelry as
Well!

I hope the summer has provided you with some time to be crafty!  As always feel free to share what you have been working on!

Until next time, happy scrappin'!

Quick and easy Thank You Cards

Check out the quick thank you cards I made for teachers.

Remember when random stamping to turn the paper in all directions and to go off the edges as well.

Normally I would have used a smaller stamp as well to help fill some holes.  Also when making cards consider stamping the envelope as well to connect them to the card.

What did you make for Thank you gifts or cards this year?

Tomorrow is also the big reveal day for consultants at convention. So there will be lots of exciting news to share coming up!!

Can't wait for club tomorrow!

Tomorrow is my first Scrappin Simply Club. I am beyond excited. For those who don't know these last couple months have been rough- my Nana and Grandpa moved here from Winnipeg in Nov and I've been loving my time with them and helping care for Nana. Well end of Feb Nana got sick so I spent a lot of time in hospital with her until her passing Mar 6th. It's been hard plus all the normal craziness of my life. So I NEED this me time! Anyone else?! LOL.

I took the Chantilly paper pack from the Workshop on the Go which is rather feminine and used the reverse side (love love love how CTMH papers have that option) and made a layout for my oldest son as he's often forgotten in my scrapbooking as he's not a huge fan of getting his picture taken. But man he can take a good pic if you catch him at the right moment. Which makes layouts of him even more special to me.

I still used the dark pink sparkly gems as I find it gives the right amount of sparkle and shot of colour. I also used different sizes photos. I often print in 4x6 and take lots of pics. So I like to add extra in and play with the sizes to make the layouts own.

The first picture is what I created with using the Workshop on the Go as my base. The second is the sample of one of the layout pages from the brochure so you can see what I was starting with.

Wish you were joining me tomorrow?! Let me know and you can join us in May! I know I'm already excited about what we will do next month! The club will decide tomorrow!

Hopefully even if you are not coming tomorrow you can find some ME time in your life and some down time for some Scrappin!

First Club Meeting April 21st

Hi there! I sent an email to those who "joined the club" about our first meeting Sunday April 21st at1pm.  I will be placing orders tomorrow.  If you didn't get an email about it, please email me at scrappinsimply@gmail.com. If you still want to join, no problem! Just shoot me an email and I will add your order in.

Looking forward to starting the club!  Here is the layout we will be doing using the Chantilly Paper
You will have product left over to do more layouts or cards as well when we are done.

If that is a little too feminine for you, don't worry, the opposite side of the paper has other colours.  See the colours used in the additional layout- this is made with the same paper pack as the above layout:
One of the things I love about our packages is that there are so many options.  You can do layout 1 but instead use the other papers in the kit to make it more gender neutral like above.
I will have both layouts ready to show you on the 21st.

If you can't make the 21st you still need to order to be part of the club and be eligible for free product.  The order was done in the order people signed up.  I will set up another time for you to work on it or I will lend you what you need.

Thanks everyone!  Can't wait to get Scrappin' with ya!

Looking to add some GLAM to your crafts?

CTMH has uploaded a new video called "Glitter Glam" to their YouTube page.  You can check it out here.  If you haven't watched their videos before, it's a great place to get some ideas, tips and techniques!

Happy Scrappin!

Personally I am loving all the new papers!  So excited that I will be able to get so much done in our club starting in March!  If you don't already know about the club, click on Scrappin Simply Club in the menu of my blog!  Let me know ASAP if you want to join us as orders will be going in soon!

Anyhow jump over to Lucy's blog here  and see what consultants are creating with the new For Always paper and one of the Close to my Heart cricut cartridges.  She did a beautiful job with the new For Always card kit.  Anyone interested in doing this with me?  Love it!  I've included some pics I got from her blog.  Be sure to jump over to see even more and then follow along to the other blogs in the hop!

Technique- making leather from paper!

Looking for a quick idea to change the look of your paper? Try this leather technique.  Joanne explains how to do it in her blog here.  The attached picture shows her layout she posted in the blog hop- how great does that journalling look!  What a great idea!  Be sure to send me pictures if you try this yourself!
Joanne also used a paper pack that I love from our Autumn/Winter book which is also still available- along with a couple other "C" papers, just to confuse me LOL.  For her layout, Joanne used Clementine.   For our first club night in March we will either be using one of the other C papers just released- Chantilly or Claire.  I'll be posting pics of those tomorrow.  Tell me- What do you think?  Any preference?
Even if you don't live close and can't "join the club", you can order the Workshop on the Go online on my site here and I can send you via email any tips you may need.  Great way to get layouts done quickly and easily! And be sure to check out the cute Stamp of the Month, "Home Sweet Home"- only $5 if you spend over $50! Love it!
Thanks Joanne for that mini tutorial!  Another great reason to get blog hopping!  I always come away with a new idea or tecnique!  And hopefully you will find a link for the March one right here as I'm hoping to join!  Just need to order the display tray!  Can't wait!
Happy Scrappin' everyone!

Cross Canada Hop- layouts!

So I'm hoping to finally join this hop in March. If you have never participated or followed a blog hop, start now! So much fun! A blog hop starts with a specific topic- this month is scrapbook layout using new papers. You go to the first blog and each blog has a link to another. So you get the chance to see lots of creations and so many examples.

Check out the blog of the lovely lady who keeps us organized, Michelle. And be sure to save some time to hop away! You can find her blog at

Happy hopping!!

Get free stuff AND get layouts done regularly!

... and that doesn't even mention the great GAL time and the extra supplies you will get.... and access to the campaigns ... and sharing tips and ideas!

THE CLUB IS STARTING... have 2 confirmed members.. join us!! I need 5 people to start at least as then we can GUARANTEE that each person will get to be a hostess during the time and get the min of $25 off their order. We will be doing a WOTG (Workshop on the Go)... this can be changed later but I would like to start with this for the first month or so. If you can't make the date but still order the WOTG you will still be eligible for the hostess rewards.

Those doing the club can decide on the which ones we do... hostess choice or vote between all club members... depending on what the members want to do. You will be sure to get a 2 page layout done each session and I will provide any of the additional supplies needed to complete the workshop. I was thinking to start we do Chantilly, Claire or the Canvas Art. I have seen them all completed and they are all gorgeous! Actually I honestly have loved them all!!

Here is a link for the current WOTG's we have running. If people like the paper but prefer the additional layout there are options there. If someone absolutely HATES the one we are doing in a given month, we can discuss the option of them choosing another one that isn't being done. Also after a month or 2 if people don't like the WOTG option we can look at instead people spending the minimum amount each month. But I would like to at least start this way to get us going. Can't WAIT to get in some SCRAPPIN TIME!!

http://scrappinsimply.ctmh.com/CTMH/Content.aspx?id=%2Fen%2Fsitecore%2Fcontent%2FOBA%2FIdeas_and_Inspiration%2FWOTG.aspx

Feel free to share this with any who would be interested. I'd like to get 5 interested people ASAP so we can decide on one for late Feb or sometime in March. Interested? Send me a PM, comment or email me at scrappinsimply@gmail.com!

Quick Tip

When making cards I use a sentiment that can be used for many uses. For example with this card although it says 4my friend inside you could add a sentiment for someone's birthday, missing you, feel better, thank you. Options are endless. Cut supplies for a bunch of them and make a stack and keep it generic so you can grab it and use it as needed.

Tutorial from Cheryl for coloring skin

For all of you new to Copics or alcohol markers (or even if you aren't) check out this tutorial by Cheryl Alger. Her images are great as well. She has a shop Filled with "digi images" so you order them and they are saved on your computer. Nice and easy!

This video also has some info and tricks.

When you print an image ensure you use card stock made for blending as it will help with your coloring. Also after printing you can set your image with a heat gun to help prevent smearing. If you use a laser printer I don't believe that step is necessary.

Here is the link for her tutorial:
