I am SO excited about the new Home Decor items we have with Close to my Heart.  Although you can't get the new Idea Book until Aug 1st unless you are a consultant, CTMH just released a video on YouTube showing you a couple of the new items.  I love how you get everything you need with your kit including an instructional brochure!

Handy Cricut Tips- Mat Tips

Hi there!
I have a couple Cricut tips for you!  The first is one that was passed to me from CTMH consultants.  Not quite sure who in particular but I know my upline Krista mentioned it.

WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR MAT IS TOO STICKY:
When you buy a new mat it is crazy sticky and can actually wreck your paper.  So use your arm and pat it all over the mat for a bit to ease the adhesive.  If like me you are allergic to adhesive use a long sleeved shirt LOL.  I had a rash on my arms for a week!



WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR MAT IS NOT STICKY ENOUGH:
This is a no brainer, you buy a new mat, right?  WRONG!  I just was on Pinterest and then clicked on this great site!

Lots of great ideas!  Check out for some PINS on my Pinterest site for a neat Chore Chart which includes printables.  There is also a link to a printable chart to stick to your Cricut Machine on what to set your blade at for different papers.

Anyway- you can actually make your mat sticky again! What a great money saving idea!  Here is the post below.  Keep in mind you would still obviously need to replace your mat when it is getting too cut up.

Incidentally, you CAN turn your mat around.  Some people think you must always put the arrow first.  YOU DON'T!    Since most often do not use the entire 12x12 paper when cutting, the mat will tend to be used more in one corner.  So be sure to turn it around to get some use out of the other corner of your mat.

  To restick your Cricut Mat, first I use a baby wipe to clean off all the extra debris or tiny pieces of paper already stuck to the mat. Then you need to mask off the edges of the mat [where the rollers touch it inside the machine, this way it does not gum up]. I use masking tape or paper for that. Once taped off, use REPOSITIONABLE spray adhesive [make sure it is repositionable!!] You can get this at Jo-Ann’s/Michael’s/Hobby Lobby. It can be expensive, but use a 40% off coupon that is usually available weekly. Spray the repositionable adhesive in an even coat over the entire mat. Once dry [after a few minutes] peel off the edging, and you’re ready to go! BE CAREFUL THOUGH, it is usually really, really sticky the first time, so use caution when removing the first few items so you do not rip them! I’ve done this over the last year and I have only just bought a new mat about a month ago!

So I tried to be creative with my blog and made my own header.  What do you think?  Although I liked the scrapbook theme before I wanted to personalize it more and make it more simple.

New Cricut cartridge and much more!

I could post all day with all the convention news. Eventually my kids will be returned to me and I'll have to be a mom again though lol.

Here are some pics and updates from my team and other awesome consultants who are tweeting and posting on Facebook from convention

1) new Cricut cartridge! This will be a hot item! Consultants can start to see and order from new idea book now but customers it goes live Aug 1st. Preorder with me today! I know when the last one was released there was a back order as demand was HUGE!

2) 13 WOTG kits ( workshop on the go). These are the kits that have everything you need included for only $29.95 including instructional brochure! There will be a bunch with layouts, some with home decor items and some with card kits. The Halloween themed one which uses the new Cricut cartridge is pictured below.

3) new colours/ new palatte/ new markers! So there will only be 40 colours. We are not yet sure which are retiring. Some of the new colours are pictured below. Also we now have alcohol markers! Yes like copics! They will come in packs of 2 and each pack will have 2 coordinating colours! Can't wait as you already know about my copic addiction! Also there will be pigment inks which will be great for home decor projects. And all 40 colours will come in mini pads for doing projects! How fun!

Great time to join! Changes to Studio J!

The first news I got was this... Consultant kits for only $49! Amazing! There are add ins as well to give you even more products and help your business grow as you want! And as always the resources for all consultants are AMAZING! I have done a few different direct sales companies and this is by far the best. If you have thought about it be sure to ask me for details!

Now... Changes to Studio J. If you haven't checked it out yet you really must! You can connect from my site and do online scrapbook layouts! Great for those who don't have a lot of time or maybe who are not able to easily manipulate paper. The quality is just crazy! I often have to touch the paper to ensure its not a traditional page. Now one thing that stopped me was the price. It was better to be abet but I didn't want to do a lot of layouts that way. Now... NO MoRE MEMBERSHIPS! Great price of less than $7 for your layout plus a free jpg of your layout with your order! If you have questions about getting started just let me know.

Convention is here!

This is my favorite week with CTMH. Although I can't be in Texas, social media allows me to feel like I'm there! Which means I can pass along photos and updates to you right away as well! Gotta love Facebook and Twitter!

If you are not following my Facebook page ensure you do as I'm doing updates there as I hear info. I will update my blog at least once a day with them as well. Gotta love mobile blogger!
